Why BattersBox108 Exists

One place for the baseball and softball community to connect.

Before BattersBox108, finding baseball and softball opportunities was too scattered. Players were searching through Facebook groups, text chains, word of mouth, random posts, and disconnected directories.

Teams had trouble finding players. Players had trouble finding teams. Organizations had trouble filling events. Trainers and umpires were hard to discover. Scrimmages, tournaments, leagues, and open opportunities were spread across too many places.

BattersBox108 exists to bring those moving pieces into one connected platform, so the people who care about the game can find each other faster.

BattersBox108 is being built from real time spent around dugouts, fields, rosters, schedules, tournaments, cameras, scoreboards, and the people who keep showing up for the game.

Co-Founder / Technology & Platform

Alex Arroyo

Alex is a family man first, a Network Engineer, MSP owner, and lifelong baseball player with a love for technology and the game.

Baseball has been part of his life for as long as he can remember. From the time he was old enough to hold a ball, the game became part of who he is.

He has been involved in baseball for nearly his entire life as a player and assistant coach. BattersBox108 came from two things that have always mattered to him: love for baseball and love for technology.

Alex saw and felt how difficult it could be to find games, players, teams, trainers, scrimmages, tournaments, and chances to keep playing. Everything was too spread out, unorganized, and time-consuming.

Part of his early 20s was spent wanting to keep playing, but finding opportunities felt almost impossible. BattersBox108 is being built to stop that from happening to others.

Favorite memory

Playing on the same team as his father.

"Once you love the game, there is no walking away. It always finds a way to bring you back."

Austin Holland

Austin is the Director of Photography for Wilcox Recognition and has spent close to a decade in sports media.

He has been involved in baseball for 25 years. He started playing at age 3, has coached age groups from 4 to 17, and has also spent time doing scout evaluation for a recruiting website.

His roles in the game have included player, coach, team admin, umpire, trainer, and fan.

Austin joined BattersBox108 because he believes in growing baseball beyond only the normal high school and college paths. He believes former players, new players, families, and teams all need better ways to find each other and keep playing.

He has a degree from Full Sail University in Digital Cinematography. Capturing the game through camera work and live streaming is part of his passion.

Favorite memory

At 15, his travel ball team won 25 straight games while traveling through six different states in one summer.
